I make things.
Business. Films. Music. Research.
I am interested in early-stage companies, building, investing, technology, cinema, music, and the strange overlap between them.

About
I am Atharv Pavan Jagannathan Vyas — APJ Vyas online.
I spend most of my time moving between two things that don't obviously belong together: capital and sound. On one side, I've worked as an Investment Analyst Intern at Tremis Capital, evaluating early-stage rounds, and before that founded Netrascopy, a low-cost diagnostic device for early detection of diabetic retinopathy. On the other, I've scored three short films and keep working on different projects, experimenting with various sounds. I don't experience these as separate lives — reading a business for what's understated versus what's forced turns out to be close to the same instinct as reading a scene.
I also founded Woofyverse, now five years into a formal partnership with the Indore Municipal Corporation. I'm an ISSF shooter and have won the Madhya Pradesh state pistol shooting championship twice, in the 10m air pistol event, along with medals in the 25m sport pistol and 50m free pistol events, though I don't compete as actively these days.
Outside of all of that, I read fiction compulsively and watch cinema whenever I find the time, for the same reason, really. I'm interested in how a story decides what to withhold. I write when I can, and I'm quietly curious about capital's role in innovation and startups. Less the theory of it, more the specific, unglamorous mechanics of why one bet gets made and another doesn't.
I keep this site as an archive of things I have made, studied, and worked on. It will keep changing with the sweet pace of time.
